Elona graduated from Trinity College of Music after completing her BMus(hons) degree in 2007. That year she was awarded the Mehroo and Byram Jeejeebhoy Prize for Violin and a Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship Scholarship to continue her studies with Gina McCormack and Walter Reiter (baroque violin) and to complete the mentorship scheme with the City of London Sinfonia.
Elona is a keen and versatile chamber musician having played in various ensembles and built up a wide range of repertoire over several years. This ranges from baroque chamber and solo music with Ensemble Telemania, a group specialising in the performance of 17th and 18th century repertoire on period instruments, to contemporary classical music with the Chimera Quartet, regularly taking part in masterclasses and performing at prestigious venues and arts festivals throughout the UK.
Elona has given a considerable number of sonata recitals, and has twice appeared with orchestras as soloist in Mendelssohn’s violin concerto. She has also performed in masterclasses given by Tasmin Little and Juan Carlos Rybin. As a student Elona played in all the major college ensembles and led TCM Sinfonia, Opera Orchestra, Baroque Orchestra and most recently Symphony Orchestra. Elona hopes to maintain a good balance of orchestral, chamber, and solo performing and plans to spend any spare time in the superb Mountains of Scotland!
